Trailer Talk: Where Do We Find Austin Food Trailers Now?

Read time: 3 minutes

Plenty of us were more than upset about the East Austin food trailer lot on South Congress shutting down in order for new construction to begin in its place. For years we had a single place in Central Austin to go to where you could enjoy any type of cuisine, beverage, or tasty snack while being immersed in the Downtown hustle and bustle. It was like the end of an era. We had our favorites, we had places yet to discover and we had Austin culture.

Now, we are to search for those all over Austin and hope they are open at that time or even in the correct location. However, for those too busy to look around for different places or can’t afford to show up to a non-existent location during a lunch break, there are usually a few events year round that offer a place for the trailers and trailer fans to gather in one place, once or multiple times a year. The Gypsy Picnic Food Trailer Festival is a popular event held every year with much success. Unfortunately, they are taking the 2013 year off, but you can still check out Trailer Food Tuesdays at the Long Center. Otherwise, you can check out our list of favorites at the bottom of this blog!

Trailer Food Tuesdays 2013 Schedule

On the last Tuesday of every month, The Long Center hosts an event for dozens of food trucks to offer their goodies to Austin. You can enjoy local favorites plus one different out of town guest truck per event. The Long Center is located at 701 W. Riverside Drive, Austin, TX, 78704.
