  • The Chainsmokers; “World Way Joy” TourNovember 1
    Frank Erwin Center 1701 Red River St, Austin, TX 78701 Grammy Award-winning artist/producer duo The Chainsmokers have announced their massive “WORLD WAR JOY” North American headline arena tour. Multi-platinum band 5 Seconds of Summer, who is featured on The Chainsmokers’ latest single “Who Do You Love,” will be joining all dates along with rising pop star Lennon Stella, who is opening the show. The 41-city tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on Sept. 25 in Cincinnati, OH, and make stops in major cities across the U.S. and Canada with a stop at the Frank Erwin Center on Nov. 1 before wrapping in Vancouver, BC on Dec. 6.

    Texas Military Forces Museum 2200 W 35th St building 6, Austin, TX 78703 Remember the true meaning of Veteran’s Day with this stirring look back at World War II. Close Assault 1944 honors the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans by focusing on the history of the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard during World War II. The free program, now in its eighth year, features members of the Texas Military Forces Living History Detachment exhibiting the uniform and equipment worn by the American GI in the European Theater of the Second World War, as well as those of his German opponent. The event will provide guests the opportunity to witness firing demonstrations of the most famous U.S. and German small arms of World War II, see everything from tents and radio equipment to GI baseball gloves and mess kits and operational vehicles such as an M4 Sherman Tank, M3 Halftrack and Jeeps!

 

  • Hyde Park Homes Tour 2019November 10

This year’s tour showcases homes in a variety of sizes and architectural styles built between 1900 and 1935. All have undergone renovations, recently or overtime, to preserve their historical integrity while adding changes designed to meet the needs of contemporary homeowners. The annual Historic Hyde Park Homes Tour serves as a fund and a FUNraiser for the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association. Its proceeds go toward neighborhood preservation, community events, beautification projects, and more.

  • BROCKHAMPTON: Heaven Belongs To You TourNovember 15
    ACL Live 310 W Willie Nelson Blvd, Austin, TX 78701 BROCKHAMPTON is an American rap collective formed in San Marcos, Texas, in 2015 and currently based in California. Led by Kevin Abstract, Brockhampton formed partially through the online forum “KanyeToThe”, and are a boy band. Their diversity is what largely distinguishes their lyrics and sound. On July 18, 2019, Brockhampton officially announced their fifth album, “Ginger”, giving it a release date of August. On July 31, they released the first single for the album, titled “I Been Born Again”, along with a music video. Three more singles with accompanying music videos were released throughout August, leading up to Ginger’s release on August 23, 2019.

The event also features an opening party, a special culinary event with local chefs, competitions, educational programs and more.

    The Long Center for the Performing Arts 701 W Riverside Dr, Austin, TX 78704 Join ThunderCloud Subs for their 29th ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot! This year there will be a 5-mile run (timed and untimed), 1-mile walk, Kids K live music, activities for the kids, post-run snacks, fundraising opportunities, and prizes! ThunderCloud Subs donates all of the proceeds from the Turkey Trot directly to Caritas of Austin, a local non-profit whose mission is to prevent and end homelessness for people in Greater Austin. Last year they raised $350,000 (largest single donation ever from the proceeds of the ThunderCloud Subs TurkeyTrot), which brings the cumulative total raised for Caritas to nearly $3.8 million! This year, let’s try to beat that!

  • Chuy’s Christmas ParadeNovember 30
    Texas State Capitol 1100 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701 The Chuy’s Christmas Parade benefits Operation Blue Santa, so make sure to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate! There will be giant inflatable balloons, festive holiday floats, famous children’s characters, spectacular marching bands, cool classic cars, and of course, Santa! The collection of toys will be at a designated time during the Parade procession, and all units will stop to collect the toys. Santa’s Helpers will line the Parade route and help spectators give their toys. The Operation Blue Santa Program will distribute all toys to another child just in time for the holidays.
