Read time: 2 minutes

Welcome Home, Ku Family!

AUSTIN, TX — Realty Austin and Austin Habitat for Humanity dedicated a new home for the Saw-Par and Anna Ku family on Saturday, November 14, 2015. As part of the company’s mission of giving back, Realty Austin and its team of agents, clients and industry partners donated over $85,000 to sponsor and build the home.

Over 250 Realty Austin agents and staff volunteered to help the cause, either by building, raising funds, or donating a portion of their commissions. Two Realty Austin agents, Cristina Valdes and Rob Albertson, went above and beyond by leading the team’s efforts. Valdes donated over $4,000 from her real estate transactions and volunteered to build, earning her the company’s Humanitarian Award. Albertson raised over $2,000 in donations by asking friends and family to support his hard labor.

Yvette Boatwright, co-owner of Realty Austin said, “Our agents who give so much of themselves everyday to uplift the Austin community are to be celebrated. Their passion to give back grew stronger while working alongside Saw-Par and Anna, and it warms our heart to dedicate this house and welcome them home.”

Realty Austin industry partners and friends who helped make the Ku’s dream of homeownership a reality were Max and Dana Leaman, The Leaman Team at Prime Lending; Gracy Title; Ryan Leahy; Josh Jordan, Colonial; Independence Title; Justin Boyd, SWBC; Harper Ray, Sente Mortgage; Capstone Title; Aaron Page, OnQ Financial; and, Ashley Matthews, AmeriFirst Financial.

Erin Samson, Development Director of Austin Habitat for Humanity said, “Realty Austin has been a strong, loyal supporter of Austin Habitat for many years and their agents always give of themselves when our communities are in need. Their culture of service exemplifies the best qualities of how philanthropic partnerships work with local business leaders. We are so grateful to Realty Austin for partnering with us to give the Ku’s this opportunity.”

At the Dedication, Boatwright gave special recognition to the team’s ‘Habitat Heroes’, Jason Taylor, Kathy Jacobs, and Cara Keenan, who committed themselves to building each of the 10 volunteer days.

Realty Austin began construction on the home located at 2514 Magin Meadow, Austin, Texas 78744 on September 9, 2015 and concluded on November 11, 2015.
