AUSTIN, TX — Realty Austin community members banded together to donate 6.5 gallons of blood during the two-day Realty Austin We Are Blood drive. The donated blood directly benefits local patients in 40 medical facilities in a 10-county region, including Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Lee, and Burleson. With the needs of the community increasing every day due to the pandemic, Realty Austin stepped up to join the We Are Blood Mission to ensure Central Texans have a protected and steady blood supply.
Members of the Realty Austin community that volunteered to donate blood include, Ami Davis, Rob Kellogg, Norma Diaz, Terri Michelle, Jennifer Arsaga, Brian Schaffer, Elle Klein Garrison, Barbara DeBow, Peter van Kooij, Ross Ponder, Adam Walker, Aubrey Shaw, Heather Greenberg, Marci Goltz, Brooks Lawson, Kathy Jacobs, Debbie Novelli, Brooke Parrish, Clare Connally, and Maggie Falvey. Combined, these agents and staff along with their friends and family donated 53 units of blood, enough to impact the lives of 156 Central Texans in need. Just 1 donated unit of blood can be split into 3 transfusable units, spreading life-changing donations to as many Central Texans as possible. Those that donated blood also received a free COVID-19 Antibodies test, which We Are Blood continues to do with any blood donation.
Ami Davis, Realty Austin agent, launched the Realty Austin We Are Blood drive after she realized how desperate the community was in need of a higher blood supply. “Realty Austin genuinely has the most giving group of people. Therefore when my friend Louis Hill works at We are Blood and they are desperate for donations right now, so I thought what a better group of people to get out there and donate than the agents and staff at Realty Austin. It’s great to have them join me in giving back to the community.”
