Welcome Home, Bendri Family!

AUSTIN, TXRealty Austin dedicated their 7th Austin Habitat for Humanity home to the Bendri family on Thursday, December 20, 2018. As part of the company’s mission to support affordable housing in Austin, Realty Austin and its team of agents, clients and industry partners donated over $100,000 to sponsor and build the home.

250 Realty Austin agents and staff volunteered over 2,080 hours building, raising funds, or donating a portion of their commissions. The company’s top charitable contributors, Jeffrey Schnabel, Nathan Pinson, Jen Berbas, Josh Lasserre, and Susan deGraffenried were applauded for their significant contributions. The company’s top fundraisers Scott Joffe, Rela Manigsaca, Ashley Brinkman, Chad Proctor, and Donna Goode were also recognized for their efforts raising awareness about the significant need for affordable housing in Austin.

Jeffrey Schnabel was given special recognition as the team’s ‘Habitat Hero’. He captained the crews onsite each day during construction and was especially credited for his leadership not only on the build site but also within the company.

Yvette Boatwright, co-owner of Realty Austin said, “To build a home alongside our agents during some of the hottest days in September to 8 of the muddiest days this Fall, is so rewarding. Dedicating this home to the Bendri family before the holidays fills our hearts with joy. Our team meets each day with passion and the spirit to give back to the Austin community. We are grateful for organizations like Austin Habitat for Humanity who place priority on the affordable housing crisis in Austin.”

Realty Austin and its industry partners and friends who helped make the Bendri’s dream of homeownership a reality included Texas National Title; Max Leaman Team; Independence Title; SWBC, Justin Boyd; Leahy Lending, Ryan Leahy; Tony Ruff, Movement Mortgage; Harper Ray, Cornerstone Home Lending; and Lynn Morenz, Barton Creek Lending Group.

Phyllis Snodgrass, CEO of Austin Habitat for Humanity said, “Realty Austin’s commitment to service and to our families is incredibly meaningful to us. It is an incredible blessing to the entire Austin Habitat community to have Realty Austin’s partnership to help hardworking families reach their homeownership dreams.”

The Bendri family moved to Austin from Morocco over 10 years ago. Since 2014, they have been working hard towards completing 300 sweat equity hours. The Bendris believe that owning a home will change their life because “Home is the Dream”.

Realty Austin began construction on September 5, 2018, and concluded on November 14, 2018. Since 2012, Realty Austin has partnered with Austin Habitat for Humanity to build homes for deserving families and donated more than $700,000 to change lives. Follow Our Story.
