Local Brokerage Raises the Walls on 5th Annual Habitat for Humanity Home and Pledges 2,400 Volunteer Hours to Build a Home for an Austin Family
AUSTIN, TX — The Realty Austin team raised the first walls on its 5th annual home build for Austin Habitat for Humanity. On the morning of Wednesday, September 7, 2016, the team of volunteers kicked off construction by raising the exterior walls of the new home being built for their new family partner, the Moujani family.
Over the next three months, 250 volunteers from the Austin real estate brokerage will work alongside the future homeowners to build their new home. The agents and staff will raise $85,000 to sponsor the home and volunteer 2,400 hours of labor to build it.
Yvette Boatwright, co-owner of Realty Austin said, “Each day we are inspired by the Austin community, our agents and industry partners, who remind us of why it’s so important to give back. We are also grateful for our generous friends Stewart Title and the Max Leaman Team who joined us today to help raise these walls.”
Realty Austin is building the home located at 2519 Magin Meadow, Austin TX 78744 for the next 10 weeks, and will conclude with a dedication ceremony on November 12, 2016.
