Becker Vineyard’s winery is a 10,000 square foot facility, which is a reproduction of a late 19th century German stone barn, a prevalent style of the Texas Hill Country. Since the vineyard was founded in 1992, three winery expansions have taken place to accommodate 74 fermentation tanks and over 4500 barrels used during the aging process. The winery is the largest purchaser of French and American Oak barrels in the state of Texas. Guided tours are conducted hourly on the weekends and a limited basis during the week. The production and bottling operation is a year-round process. Their “state of the art” Italian designed bottling equipment was customized just for Becker Vineyards and will process 55 bottles per minute. Many of their wines are fully distributed within the state of Texas and can be purchased through retail outlets. Most of the wines we feature at the winery are winery exclusive.

Bending Branch Winery was founded in 2009 by Robert W. Young, M.D., his wife Brenda, and their daughter, Alison. Bending Branch Winery marries Old World winemaking with the modern science of Cryo-Maceration and Thermoflash fermentation to make Next World Wines. Dr. Bob uses a combination of whole-berry, or carbonic maceration, and these innovative techniques to extract the best qualities (color, flavor, and tannins) to make bold, but balanced red wines. Bending Branch is most known for Tannat, a grape variety that exceeds expectations in our Texas terroir. They’ve also had great success experimenting with Charbono, Sagrantino, and Souzão, along with perennial favorites of Tempranillo, Malbec, and Mourvedre.
Dr. Bob’s first experiment with Cryo-Maceration resulted in the Top Texas Wine Award at the 2014 Rodeo Uncorked! In 2018, they were awarded Top Texas Winery. Also, in 2018, the winery was voted No. 3 Best Tasting Room in USA Today’s 10 Best Awards. They’ve were voted Best Texas Winery FOUR years in a row in the San Antonio Express-News Readers’ Choice Awards, 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015.

Calais’ self-constructed underground space, consisting of winery, cellar, and tasting room, is fondly known as The Cave. With tasting room walls made from reclaimed wood siding from an old horse-barn and birch plywood panels throughout the winery, guests catch a glimpse of the same skill and artistry comprising our wines.
Because great wine begins in the vineyard, they cultivate strong relationships with Texas grape-growers to ensure that the highest quality fruit goes into our wines. Sourced from the best sites Texas offers, they take a hands-on approach to managing the fruit, including site selection, variety choice, pruning and training methods, low yields, and determination of harvest dates. All of this equates to high standards leading to top-quality wines. We proudly make our wines from 100% Texas grapes. Along with superior fruit, Calais uses native yeasts whenever possible to make wines with character and of the highest caliber. The fruit is handled with utmost care throughout winemaking and bottling. Their attention to detail continues with select and custom-crafted French oak barriques diligently attended to. Limited production makes this kind of care possible across all wines!

The Duchman Family Winery was founded in 2004 by Drs. Lisa and Stan Duchman in a quest to bring world-class winemaking to Central Texas and the Texas Hill Country. Their love of the unique Italian grape varieties, as well as similar weather patterns to Texas, inspired them to work with viticultural consultant Bobby Cox and growers in the Texas High Plains AVA to produce grapes that would allow their winemakers, Dave Reilly and Mark Penna, to experiment with making wines like Vermentino, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto.
The winery continues to source the majority of its fruit from the Texas High Plains AVA, where cooler temperatures and a more “continental” climate are ideal for the production of fine wine made from Italian grape varieties. As the winery grows, the Duchmans remain committed to their goal to produce food-friendly fine wine in Central Texas using Texas-grown fruit exclusively. With an eye on the future, Duchman Family Winery continues to develop innovative winemaking and grape growing techniques to provide wine that truly reflects a taste of Texas for years to come.
Duchman Family Winery remains one of the top wine destinations in Texas. HGTV listed their facility as one of the 20 most picturesque wineries in the country. All of the winery’s current releases can be sampled and purchased at the winery’s tasting room, and the estate’s beautiful grounds are open to visitors. Pick a spot at one of the oak-shaded picnic tables, or grab a seat in the winery hallway with views of their production facilities and wine barrels!
With deep Texas roots, a passion for quality, and an appreciation for the future, their winery embraces the best of our tradition and legacy while coursing towards a dynamic representation of globally-competitive, modern wine. Fall Creek Vineyards was conceived through worldly inspiration, and while distinctly Texan in terroir, our wines are crafted with world-class skill and vision. They are proud to share their wine with you.
They produce benchmark wines to stand shoulder to shoulder with the notable wines of the world. Their mission is well stated by Director of Winemaking at Fall Creek Vineyards, Sergio Cuadra, who said, “I did not come here to make great Texas wines; instead, I came here to make great, world-class wines that just happen to grow in Texas!” Judging by the flood of accolades and awards, Fall Creek Vineyards is doing just that!

Hilmy Cellars produces and bottles wine in small lots from over 80% Texas-raised fruit. In every bin, vat, tank, or barrel, they attempt to make a true wine with the utmost of care and guidance, which they then respectfully submit to you. They have let go of a few bottlings to date, painfully, in order to share what we do with people who love wine. Although they are still a young winery, even the most seasoned and well-versed of wine aficionados will be able to appreciate the many and significant transformations the wines find themselves undergoing presently. Over the years, it is also their hope to produce wines for increasingly later release and subsequent enjoyment!
In 1997, Dan and Rose Mary Gatlin bought a large lot in a then-undervalued part of Dallas, where they remodeled the house for their residence and established a 245-vine completely “urban” vineyard. This became a local point-of-interest, and some early Palomino-Chardonnays were produced from there non-commercially as the yield was less than 50 gallons per year. The 2003 and 2004 wines were custom crushed at Wales Manor Winery in McKinney, Texas, where Mr. Gatlin served as winemaker for both vintages of Tempranillo-Cabernet. The 2003 Temp-Cab and the 2005 Palo-Chard were released August 1, 2006, to a great reception of restaurant customers in Texas’ four largest cities: Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio.

Lewis Wine’s philosophy is to cultivate their vineyard for top-quality fruit, while respectfully caring for the land that supports it. They rely mostly on compost teas, compost, and cover crops to build healthy soil and combat depletion. Each vine is tended by hand and will be touched anywhere from 4-6 times per year, depending on the weather and vigor of the plants, not including netting and harvest. With just under 10 acres of vines, that’s no small feat for their team. In 2016 they pulled just enough fruit to produce the small-lot 2016 Estate Rosé. 2017’s harvest was more bountiful, bringing in almost 5 tons, and will result in a couple of new wines from the Estate.

It wasn’t easy persuading local farmers to invest in vineyards, but after they built their original winemaking facility outside Lubbock in 1976, vineyards began to dot the Texas High Plains. They broke out onto the American wine scene with a rare Double Gold Medal for their 1984 Chardonnay at the San Francisco Fair’s prestigious International Wine Competition. Within the next 20 years, their wines could be found in many states outside of Texas, as well as three European markets, Japan and Russia. It was then that we convinced third-generation California winemaker Greg Bruni to take over winemaking and production responsibilities. Shortly after, Mark Hyman joined Llano as their V.P. of Sales and Marketing, rounding out the most professional management team in the Texas wine industry. Their market sales have grown to over 160,000 cases annually, and they’re still expanding!

Narrow Path Winery began making wine in the early 2000s using grapes from their one-acre estate vineyard. A converted room in their barn became the micro-winery to produce their first and future vintages. The first harvest ended in an old-fashioned grape stomp with friends and family, making for a memorable summer night in their back yard. A decade of careful craftsmanship and a desire to share wine with new friends resulted in the creation of Narrow Path Winery. They are committed to producing exceptional wines that make you want to sit and savor. All wines are small batch (under 200 cases) featuring fruit from their estate vineyard along with grapes from select Texas and California vineyards.

The original 17-acre Kuhlken Estate Vineyard is located north of Fredericksburg along the Llano Highway in the first viticultural area designated in Texas, Bell Mountain AVA (American Viticultural Area). This section of the Texas Hill Country enjoys cooler evenings and superior soil, making it one of the most ideal locations in the state for grape growing. Responsible for preserving these natural conditions for future generations, the Kuhlken family employs ecologically sound agricultural practices that minimize the impact upon the landscape. Planted in distinct blocks, varieties cultivated in the vineyard include Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Albarino, Mourvedre, Grenache, and small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Solaro Estate is the culmination of generations of winemaking and passion for creating only the finest wines. The Solaro “S” stands not just for Solaro, the ancient residence of our family in Italy, but also the shape of Austin’s own Barton Creek as its waters border their Estate. The Estate has been in their family since 1909 as a working, self-sufficient farm dedicated to agriculture. With their rocky soil and the Texas heat, they knew the ultimate use of their family’s land would be vineyards. Inspired by Barbara’s roots in Franconia, Germany, and Robert’s close ties to his wine-making relatives in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, they got to work making this dream a reality.
The Estate vineyards you see today are the result of detailed planning and using the most ultra-modern equipment and finest technology. The winery was specifically designed to maximize the production of limited quantities of complex and exquisite wines. They opened the first urban winery in Houston to make their wines available to its globally-thinking metropolitan community. They are always looking forward to the future of Solaro’s wines and of the Texas wine industry!
1419 Co Rd 409, Spicewood, TX 78669
Spicewood Vineyards is zealous about grape growing. It started with science. Before the vineyards were first planted, the original owners, Ed and Madeline Manigold, conducted an extensive soil analysis to determine which grape varieties would thrive in the three soil types found on the estate. Nine of the original seventeen acres of grapevines are still producing excellent fruit on vines that are more than twenty-four years old. Over the years, they have expanded to thirty-two planted acres on-site, growing several varietals, including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Tempranillo. They take a “hands in the dirt” approach to vineyard management to ensure they have the best possible fruit. By actively working the vineyards through each season, they help the vines flourish despite the crippling frost, shredding hail, and searing heat. Each makes its mark. The variation of conditions from vintage to vintage is amazing. Understanding their vines makes it possible for them to produce wines that they are proud to bring to your table year in and year out!

What began as an acquaintance as winemakers in the Hill Country became a collaboration between Bill and Chris, focusing on a shared winemaking philosophy. As the word ‘winegrowers’ implies, Bill and Chris agree that great wines are not made but grown. They also believe that wine should be inspired by the pleasure that is shared with an extended community of friends and family. The creation of each new vintage depends greatly upon these two priorities. Today, Bill and Chris continue to reach for a level of quality that represents the very best of Texas in each new vintage. It is with confidence in their process and pride in their families, community, and this special place!
