Austin Texas Welcomes V8 Supercars to Circuit of the Americas

For the first time in North America, Austin will host the Australian V8 Supercars Austin 400 at the Circuit of the Americas this weekend. The three-day V8 Supercars event is filled with sports and entertainment on May 17-19, 2013.

The fan-favorite V8 Supercars event features two 62-mile races on Saturday and Sunday on a 2.3 section of the Circuit of Americas track of customized popular passenger cars. All cars use a 5.0-litre, naturally aspirated V8-engine. In 2013, manufacturers joined in the series historically only for Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores.

Fans can meet V8 Supercar drivers for an autograph session at 9:30AM, and enjoy a pit lane and track walk at noon on Saturday and Sunday. The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be on display at 11:00AM Saturday, followed by a MotoX Jumping Show and National Anthem performance at 6:00PM.

Tickets can still be purchased at the Grand Plaza Box Office at Circuit of the Americas beginning at 7:30AM, May 17 through May 19. 3 day passes start at $69 and a single race day pass is $49 for Sunday at the gate. Kids under 12 are free with an accompanied ticketed adult. College students and military are $49 at the gate with valid ID. Offer is good for active military and veterans.
