Parades, fireworks, and live music are just a few of the ways locals enjoy celebrating July 4th in Austin. Our city never disappoints, hosting numerous parties packed with fun activities and firework displays in and around town.
We’ve compiled a list of July 4th events in Austin to make planning your day a lot easier, all located between 1-20+ miles from Downtown. Make sure to check dates and times, since most July 4th events in Austin will be held on Saturday, July 3rd this year. Grab your family and friends, and start planning your 4th of July festivities!

The City of Dripping Springs’ Fire in the Sky show is tentatively planned to be seen from the DS Sports and Recreation Park behind HEB. The park will be closed to all spectators. Please watch from the Home Depot or HEB Parking lots, or any other parking lots (with permission) from the downtown Dripping Springs/Mercer Street Area.

Plum Creek Golf Course will host a July 4th golf tournament beginning after lunch. When it gets dark enough, the fireworks show will launch from the golf course. Find a spot early enough to see the tall water tower that is next to the Hays CISD PAC on Kohler’s Crossing. If you can see the water tower, you will have a great view of the fireworks.
Parking on paved parking lots around the intersection of Kohler’s and Kyle Parkway are the safest locations. No viewing is allowed on the Plum Creek Golf Course property. Approximately 20-30 minutes will cap off a day of fun.
Lago Vista, TX
Come and celebrate the 4th of July with your family and friends at Lago Vista’s 4th of July party! Start your day with a chip-timed 5k race through the rolling hills of Lago Vista, march in the parade, ride on a float or golf cart, or wave your flag and cheer on the colorful floats down Dawn Drive. There will also be a golf tournament from 1 pm to 5 pm.
Then hop on a free CapMetro bus and ride down to the Lago Vista Golf club and listen to live music, eat some delicious food, participate in pickleball, and enjoy the best firework show in town.
Lakeway is going big this year! Celebrate the fourth of July all weekend long with various activities and festivities the entire family will enjoy. Fireworks will be held on July 2nd at 9:30 in the Rough Hollow/Highlands neighborhood off Tomichi Trail near Rough Hollow Elementary.
The parade will be held on July 3rd and “mermaid day” will be held on July 4th at the Lakeway Swim Center.

Enjoy a full fun day at Typhoon, Texas, while celebrating the 4th of July at Texas’ Favorite Waterpark! Typhoon Texas will host a variety of festivities throughout the day, ending with a fireworks show. All guests must have an admission ticket and reservation.
Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Round Rock will celebrate July 4th this year with a parade, fireworks, and festivities. The Sertoma Independence Day Parade will have giant helium inflatables and lots of patriotic pride. The 1.5-mile parade travels along Mays Street between Mays Crossing and Highway 79. The parade starts at 8:30 in the morning, so get there early for a good seat!

If you happen to be in Taylor, Texas on July 4th, you don’t want to miss out on the best firework show in town! The Taylor Community proudly presents Fireworks in the Park on July 4th at dusk. The fireworks can be seen from almost anywhere in the park’s vicinity and make sure to bring your lawn chairs, blanket, and get there early to get a good spot for the firework show.

Blue Starlite Urban Mini Drive- In’s Independence Day celebration is a one-of-a-kind tradition in Austin! This 4th of July, watch the well-known and patriotic movie, Independence Day starring Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum. After the thrilling movie is over, Blue Starlite will have a firework show on its high-definition screen. Make sure to bring some popcorn from home and have fun without having to leave your car.
