Austinites love their furry, four legged friends and taking them on adventures around Austin. There are plenty of dog parks to check out, located in all parts of Austin with each one providing its own type of fun. Fall time brings some extra things for our beloved fluffy pets to enjoy and below are some great events to attend.

Dog Events in Fall
Benefitting local Dog Rescue organizations, DogtoberTROT is a 1K TROT around The Domain. Afterwards, take full advantage of the pet portraits, wiener dog races, canine costume contest, silent auction, rafffle drawings and much more!
Strut Your Mutt is back again in Austin this year for a 5K leisurely walk or timed run that begins at Mueller Lake Park. This event includes field day activities, pet portraits, kids crafts, refreshments, contests, and much more! Proceeds from the run go towards local homeless pets in Austin or around the nation.
Partnered with Amy’s Ice Creams to help raise money, Bark Happy’s event is not one you want to miss out on. Amy’s Ice Cream and Chi’lantro will be serving great food all day for humans, while doggy ice cream, nail trimming, K9 agility course, fire hydrant ring toss and more will be offered to the doggies for free!
The American Pets Alive! Conference is a three day long event with a clear purpose in mind, to stop killing in your community. For five years, Austin AmPA! has proven success with their No Kill policy at shetlers. Attendees at the conference will learn all about how to help the animals in their community.
Hosted at the La Hacienda in Hudson Bend, Austin Pet Fashion Show is a fashion show with adoptable dogs struting their paws down the runway. There is a dog park on premises where dogs can play after the show and lots of fun things for humans to do as well!
