As Downtown Austin continues to grow, condo sales doubled in 2010 and prices are staying remarkably stable. In fact, prices were merely 1% lower than 2009, making last year one of downtown’s best years for downtown residential growth.
Currently, there are 9,500 people living in Downtown Austin, more than double of what it was in 2000. By 2020, the City of Austin expects to increase its Downtown tenants to 25,000, a 150% increase.
Green homes have become a hot item on the Austin real estate market and there’s enough signs to see why. While they usually come with a higher listing price, green homes promote sustainable living and actually help reduce costs in the long-run.

Over the last few years, Austin’s skyline has continued to change from one year to the next. As 2011 kicks off, the most obvious new change is the completed W Hotel, which features some of the best new residences in downtown.
