Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL)
After Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) celebrated its 10th Anniversary last year, the festival continues to be one of the best music festivals in the nation, attracting star performers such as: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, and the Eagles. ACL is an annual three-day music festival that takes place in the heart of Austin at Zilker Park, usually in September or October. In 2012, the music festival will consist of eight stages and over 130 bands from all over the world. South by Southwest Festival (SXSW)
Established in 1987, South by Southwest (SXSW) is a series of music, film, and interactive festivals that last nearly two weeks long. SXSW Music Festival consists of over 2,000 performers playing at over 90 venues all over Austin, making it one of the largest music festivals in the nation. SXSW Film is more focused on screenings, Q & A’s with directors, and viewings of award-winning independent films. Lastly, SXSW Interactive has turned its focus toward emerging technology. SXSW continues to be the highest revenue-producing event for the city’s economy and has grown significantly over the years bringing in roughly 30,000 registrants to Austin every spring.
Zilker Metropolitan Park

Hamilton Pool Nature Preserve
If you are looking to beat the Texas Heat on a summer day in Austin, Texas, Hamilton Pool is perfect for the nature lover in everyone. Hamilton Pool is a historic swimming hole located roughly 3/4 mile from the Pedernales River. The unique aspect of the pool is the 50-foot waterfall Hamilton Creek creates as it spills over the limestone and plunges into a canyon.
